Reclaiming the Prophetic Voice marks the cost of the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan by placing the August stone on the Memorial Cairn, corner of Broadway, Elm and Park St., inscribed with the death total of US military and the approx. numbers of Iraqi and Afghani civilians killed during August. The wars are not over.

Justice for Spectrum Strikers! Prayer service and support rally. Almost 400 nursing, dietary, housekeeping and laundry workers have been on strike since April 15 against Spectrum Healthcare. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 5;15—7:30 p.m.
A group of volunteers – from the Middle East Crisis Committee, Code Pink, Socialist Action, International Socialist Organization, and the CT ANSWER coalition – is planning to raise thousands of dollars for the U.S. Boat to Gaza by means of a CT River Cruise. The cruise will depart from Haddam, CT  (opposite the river from the Goodspeed Opera House) at 5:15 p.m. and return at 7:30 p.m. There will be dinner, auction and music and the cost is $50 per person.
