The New Haven Bioregional Group will sponsor a two-part Emergency Preparedness workshop led by Randy Domina on Monday, May 2 and May 16, at 7 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Society, 608 Whitney Ave., New Haven.
With all the unrest presently occurring and what has happened in the last 20 years, do you ever wonder what you would do if there was a local emergency? It is easy to get a bit overwhelmed thinking about the possibilities.
In this workshop we will look at some small steps you can take to be prepared with the hope that we can move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling capable of taking care of yourself and maybe even being of service to others.
In the first session we will talk about different types of emergencies and what we could do to respond in a positive way. We will discuss how our personal needs can be met. We will consider what would go into a kit that we could take with us if we needed to leave home. Homework for the second session will be to start assembling a kit.
In our second session we will bring our kits and discuss what we have assembled and what we have learned.
